Lea Landman - Co-Founder and Chairwoman of the Advisory Board
Lea earned her BA from Tel Aviv University and holds a Master's degree from the London School of Economics in International Relations. She was a research fellow at the Institute for Policy and Strategy at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Herzliya and deputy manager of the Herzliya Conference Series on Israel National Security. She specializes in political, social and economic affairs in the Middle East, as well as security-related issues such as missile defense and NATO.

Julia Ben Shalom (Chazkel) - Co-Founder and Chief Advisor
Julia is orginally from New York and holds a BA from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Diplomacy. She earned her Masters degree in Counter Terrorism and Conflict Resolution from the IDC Herzliya and did freelance strategic consulting for various non-profit organizations and businesses in Israel. She worked as a research assistant at the International Institute for Counter Terrorism in Israel and as a legal aid at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. Her specialization is in the laws of war and the protection of civilians during wartime.

Shauna Naghi - Director of Membership
Shauna is originally from Los Angeles, California and was a founding member of WIIS Israel. She completed her BA in Government with a focus on Counter Terrorism and Conflict Resolution at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in Herzliya. Shauna helped create the Soldiers Speak Out website countering anti-IDF allegations after Operation Cast Lead and has been involved in many other projects defending Israel. As the Director of Membership, she is in charge of member relations and WIIS Israel's flagship Mentorship Program.

Erica Mandell - Blog Editor
Erica earned her BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University in Washington, DC, where she focused on Middle East Studies, and holds a Master's degree in Security and Diplomacy from Tel Aviv University. She recently completed a research internship with the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies where she examined the effects of the Arab Spring on Iran, and currently works for the Shusterman Foundation. Erica serves as the organization’s editor for the WIIS Israel Blog, 'WIIS Up'.

Revital Karin Sela - Executive Director
Revital is orginally from Israel and earned her BA in Government from IDC where she completed the Argov fellowship in leadership and diplomacy. She is currently working towards her Master's degree at Tel Aviv University in Public Policy. Prior to working with WIIS, she was a strategic and regulatory consultant at the TARA Consulting Group, where she initiated and planned public campaigns and policy proposals for one of Israel's leading universities. She worked at the Office of the Prime Minister during the Olmert administration and was a co-founder of Young Israelis for UNICEF, a student-based organization aimed at supporting and strengthening the Israeli fund. Revital specializes in strategic and political consulting, campaigning, policy affairs, and planning.

Bat-El Ohayon - Director of On-Campus Initiatives
Bat-El is originally from Montreal, Canada and graduated from McGill University with a BA in History and Political Science. She moved to Israel in 2012 and earned her Master's degree in Security Studies and Diplomacy at Tel Aviv University. Bat-El works as a geostratic and security analyst with a private intelligence firm, where her specialty is West Africa and the Maghreb. As Director of On-Campus Iniatives, she is responsible for our outreach programs to students and universities in the region.

Sophie Jacobs - Director of Research Initiatives
Sophie is originally from Seattle, Washington and graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Economics and Math. She earned her Master's degree in Middle East Studies from Tel Aviv University where she specialized in Middle East economics and terror financing, and worked as an analyst writing about Middle East economics, business, and finance. As Director of Research Initatives, she is Editor-In-Chief of the WIIS Israel Middle East Review and heads up WIIS's research and internship programs.
